With a friend in the hospital with blood poisoning, I am determining to be thankful for all the little things that make up a day around here. (our friend Steve is doing better finally. They finally found out that he has strep in his bloodstream and they are finally able to treat him and his fevers are coming down).
Spilled vegetable soup all over the kitchen floor.......fresh air in the house with all the windows and ceiling fans going........the joy of Magic Erasers getting all the grime off doorways, walls and window sills, so easily..........little ones running around singing songs from Schoolhouse Rock (Thomas picked up a video at a garage sale Saturday and the kiddos love it)......an afternoon when Patrick and Lily are playing together so nicely after squabbling all morning.....Lily doing a Math page and saying, "That was baby stuff" Praise the Lord!!......a nap in the afternoon with the breeze blowing through the beautiful curtains my mom made me.......knowing at noon what I'm going to make for dinner-haha (hasn't happened in awhile)......Maggie feeling better after a week of strep throat and then a week of a virus (and still wanting to cuddle!)......

Patrick comes into the kitchen and says, "Thanks Mom!"
Me: "For what"
Patrick: "For teaching us. Cuz if you didn't, we'd be morons."
Today.....
After wrestling with Patrick, Maggie came into the kitchen (gee I'm in the kitchen a lot!), lays down on the floor and says,
"Mommy, I'm dead meat."
