Life with Patrick

Scenario #1: Patrick IS growing up
We are sitting in the van in the parking lot of the doctor's office after Maggie's appointment. I am putting antibacterial gel on my hands. The van is running. Patrick is done with his gel. We've been sitting maybe 2 minutes.
Patrick: What didja do? Run out of gas?
Mom: Noooooo.
Patrick: Why aren't we moving then?

Scenario #2: Patrick hates clothing
I am sitting in the green chair in the living room. Patrick, wearing only a tshirt and a pullup, burrows into my side.
Patrick: Keep me warm Mommy!
Mom: Why don't you go get dressed!
Patrick: Why? Are we going somewhere?

Scenario #3: Patrick is right!
Still sitting in the green chair.
Patrick: I'm older than Maggie, right Mom?
Mom: Yes, you are.
Patrick: But someday Maggie will be older than me, right? (he also thinks he will be older than Lily someday)
Mom: No Patrick. Maggie will always be younger than you.
Patrick: No she won't.
Mom: Yes she will.
Patrick: No she won't.
Mom: Yes she will.
Patrick: No she won't!
Mom: Patrick! She will! (I am beginning to feel 3 years old!)
Patrick: Mommy!!!! Maggie WILL be older than me someday!
Mom: Ok.

Scenario #4: Patrick is creative
Lily, Patrick and I are in the bathroom. I am helping Patrick with his toilette. I notice a big blue blob on the wall no where near the sink. I grab some tissue and wipe it off.
Mom: Who put toothpaste on the wall?
Lily: Patrick.
Patrick: Why'd you wipe it off Mom?
Mom: Because there's not SUPPOSED to be toothpaste on the wall! Why is it there anyway? It's no where near the sink.
Patrick: It was my decoration.
